Sabrina, Teenage Witch animated series VS Sabrina, New Animated Series, ...

We are discussing Sabrina, The Teenage Witch animated series from the early 1970s vs Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, animated series from the late 1990s.

The older Sabrina (about 56 now) could easily be considered the grandmother of the younger Sabrina of today. I would like to compare the two. as both have traits that I like and find annoying.

The original Sabrina had white hair whereas the new Sabrina is a light blonde. (I wonder what the older Sabrina would look like if we showed her as a 50ish year old adult?

I show the two intros in my older RCA 25" console. Gladly my camera kept in sync with the TV. T he contrast was a bit off though. (Yes, that is my main TV and Yes, I really DO sit that close to watch TV.

Sabrina, Teenage Witch animated series VS Sabrina, Teenage Witch New Ani...

Looking at the long term winter projections, we still stand by our original satement that this winter will be very nice. Lots of cold and snow for the Northeast. Northwest should get fairly normal amounts of ram. the Southwest should do well too. It all of course, depends on how strong El Nino is expected to be. General projections show it to be a weaker one this year.

This could be the beginnings of a colder Climate change in the form of glaciation.

The IPCC is disappointed that Global warming hasn't occured at the levels they had projected. I say, too bad!

Mother Azna had created the weather stewards to allow us to have a more active role in our environment that we would strive to find a good balance. So far, her project has been very successful

LCD vs CRT monitors. which one really works well for me. I show a demo using both types on my computer. the CRT really is preferred by me since my eyes have a hard time with LCD screens. For those who are unaware, I am legally blind btw.

I haven't lost my mind, It is backed up on a tape cartridge!

It is inevitable, we collect stuff, that includes computer data. Yet, most of us, won't get rid of it without a fight. Sadly, we don't consider backing it up until it is GONE FOREVER. How many CD-r,DVD+R, DVD+RDL and Bluray will it take to back up 600 Gigabytes? How long to restore 600 Gigabytes from cloud storage?

After what happened to Mega Upload. can you depend on cloud storage at all? DVDs can fail. SSDs may fail along with Hard drives.

From personal experience, your best means of saving your bacon is tape backup.

Look at the number of analog tapes that are still usable after 40+ years? Likewise, there are some computer tapes that are just as old and still good. How many CDs from the mid 1980s are playable? How many DVDs from the mid 1990s?  The number of good tapes to bad tapes is quite good.

You can find inexpensive tape backup equipment on EBay. I have seen several LTO-2 backup units for pretty good prices. The tape cartridges are fairly cheap, even for new. Nothing wrong with used but well maintained equipment.

In my case, I got to get a 4GB QIC/SLR drive in order to read a QIC DC6250 backup set. I am considering a DLT or LTO-2 drive for backing up my 600GB, While that may be doable for me, you may have other goals in mind.

Are you ready for Global Cooling?

Several observations have noted that Arctic Sea Ice has increased by 60% since last year. In addition to the temperatures around the Earth have shown signs of being lower.  A small group of environmental scientists believe that we are beginning a new glaciation phase.

We finally got our Microtek X6EL scanner working on our Powermac G5.A process that was made more complex by Apples attitude towards the Power PC processor and the lack of software updates.

Apple OS-X really isn't that great. While it is better than OS 9,22, Apple's software architecture makes things more complicated than is really needed.

If I had to chose between the two, I would choose to have both. That is because each has it's strengths. If my back was really against the wall? OS 9.22 as I can get most software for it that I can use

Fukushima is acting bad again. Radiation is really getting much worse. Many Nuclear power plans are being closed as the operators are afraid the same thing could happen to them.

I will be talking about the SCSI interface in the next few videos. The first will be discussing the Scsi host adaptors and showing you how they work with my Scsi Microtek X6EL flatbed scanner, We will also be discussing other Scsi applications including Hard Drives and CD/DVD drives.

As we get closer to my Season, I will begin migrating my video topics to the winter weather discussions. For this reason, I wanted to get some technical talks in before Yule.
