FBI director James Comey was bitching that the new encryption strategies of Google and Apple were making his job at the FBI harder as they could not easily get a warrant, seize a phone and then dig through it in a data forensics laboratory. Uh huh? And who's fault is that?

It is NOT Google or Apple's. it is your friends at the NSA! Get in contact with General Alexander and James Clapper and bitch them out. Thanks to their abuse of the section 311 of the U.S Patriot act to create Prism and other spying programs, American's don't trust you. or any other government entity any more!

Sorry I cut it short, the sun was going down. But the same counter spying tools can also hurt you too. Forgot your passkey? Might as well throw your phone in the garbage. the data is gone forever! Forgot to remove the icloud lock when selling your phone? Useless! Relative who owned the phone dies and does not tell you the iCloud password? Again useless!

If the NSA wasn't spying on all Americans, we would not have been in this situation, Mr. Comey.

bcast09252014 Lithium Ion Batteries and the Phabulos phablet

Does your Phablet/tablet/phone have a USB port disability? Does it have the options to feed it pre-filled Lithium-Ion Batteries?

I bought this little beastie knowing it had a bumm USB port. but, It can take its electrical meals in little externally charged BL-5C batteries. It holds TWO of these.

Okay, so you start combing Ebay for the biggest/baddest batteries that can fit. Uh huh? did you know there are some really unscrupulous battery producers out there? Just how safe is that cheap magical 10,000 mah battery you see for $40? Can you really cram all that mah into a teeny can?

Sadly, No, it is physically impossible and given the nature of lithium-Ion, downright DANGEROUS! Stick with known products. If you think the seller is trying to sell the impossible, they probably are!

This unit is content with BL-4C, BL-5C and apparently BL-6C batteries. The BL-6C is big enough that you have to leave the cover off the back to use it. Its energy density isn't that much greater than a BL-5c which you can get at 1050mah relatively easily. The BL-5C fits well and you can put the cover back on. These feed the internal 3000mah battery.

The BL battery line is really a part of Nokia, and if you want to avoid a heartache, Use genuine Nokia batteries.

cable09142014 The First planned Cable 13 program

This is a sneak preview of the local progam that I am planning of releasing. On Public Access Cable 13 in Winsted Connecticut.

This was originally recorded in PAL at 720x576 at 25fps. In order to snow this on an NTSC cable system, it had to be rerendred into 720x480 at 30fps.

I shoot PAL almost exclusively as it gives a better picture.

However, regardless of format, please watch and let me know what you think of this proposed program release.

bcast09122014 ION iType slide case keyboard unboxing.

Let me start by saying that it is NOT the item I expected. as the description and model number matched the keyboard HOWEVER, the photo on the EBAY site showed a different keyboard system.

Well, after Lumi and I tested this, we decided to hack it as not that expensive. We tried to retrofit the original case for the iphone 3gs which, as I said in my unboxing, was a little wide. It also has a more rounded backside.

The keyboard was attatched to the iphone 4S case with a metal bracket with 2mm screws. With the keyboard removed, It would be easily possible to attach it to an iPhone 3gs case!

Personally, it is a great idea but it is too small for most people to text with, maybe little children may not have a problem but, this adult did NOT like the teeny keys! I will buy a larger keyboard for daily use

Was worth the price? Hard to give a definitive here.. For me, NO! For everyone else.... that is a personal and subjective thing. but it was cheap enough so you could buy one and try it out.

I may be creating a localized show on our local Cable public access channel.

I haven't nailed down the details and I may need some help with topic ideas.

I also talk a little about my personal life issues (Oh! My the rumor mongers are going to have a field day! NOT!) as the information I talk about is true and honest.

lumi09112014 Reviewing bluetooth speaker with Michele

Originally, I was to review this For Michele. However, Michele decided to join me as we gave this little Chinese Bluetooth product a good once over. Here is a quick summary:
1. Loud enough to wake the dead! ;)
2. Bluetooth mode works great.
3. Battery is user replaceable. it is a BL-5C (Nokia style)

Here is some notes of observations after this video was shot.

1. Telephone mode (could be an iphone 3GS issue). is a little wacky.
2. This appears to have an FM radio mode. but... our area has no FM radio stations, so we could not test that.
3. the Voice status reports are only one volume level, LOUD!


But for $15 you get one loud piece of kit that will keep you rockin all day!.

bcast09072014 I am feeling a bit worn down.

I have been burning the candle at both ends and the middle, driving myself to exhaustion! I am worn out, tired and a bit cranky. I think I need to take a visual sabbatical and work on my audio broadcasts. Audio broadcasting is a bit less unnerving and stressful as it takes less work to make a good radio broadcast.

Perhaps with a little rest, I can get back on my feet to do more video work. I also could really use some ideas from you too! Please, post some in the comments below!

Please don't get upset, Please don't slam the door! I am just a mortal body. The spirit is willing but my body is not quite that of a 16 year old! (I miss those days! I was quite an active person in my teen years.)

bcast08302014 Ukraine and U.S energy conservation and safety.

Last year, the midwest of the United States during the winter of 2013-2014 faced that frigid polar vortex sending the price of Propane/Natural Gas and Electricity through the stratosphere.

In the Ukraine, Gazprom is not shipping Natural gas to Ukraine as Ukraine was unable to pay their outstanding gas bill to Gazprom.

Ukrainians were told to take drastic measures to save their limited supplies of Natural Gas for the winter. Including:
1. Take cold showers
2. Invest in Wood and coal fired heating systems and stoves
3. Install Electric water heaters and Electric boilers
4. Insulate, insulate and INSULATE!!!

Perhaps, being the Eastern U.S will be expecting to have a cold time this winter; We should consider the same.
