The 64hdd demo with Michele

64hdd is a program for the PC that allows it to be used as a mass storage system for a Commodore 64/128 and other commodore computers that use the 6 pin serial cable. it allows you to store large amounts of software on the hard drive of the PC. It also allows the usage of .D64 .D81 .LNX .T64 .D2m disk images.

The program I show is the freeware version. Nick Coplin also has 64hdd professional (a Commercial version) that offers more features than this version.

You can find out more of 64hdd by going to Nick's website at:

bcast03222015 64hdd does not like my computer

64hdd does not like my comp;uter as my two machines do not have consistant timing. For that reason, I put my commodore 64 back into the closet for later.. Perhaps one day, I may try the Sd2IEC instead.

Dory was with me in this video as we talked about other topics as well.

64hdd demo setup and balun install

This video tests the video configuration that will be used for the 64hdd software and XE1541 cable, when it arrives. The beginning of this video shows you how I prepared the Cat-5 cable with  the CCTV balun connectors, The second part shows the configuration and the last part shows what the Formac FS10 studio Video to DV converter sees.

Being my Commodore 64c is NTSC, I needed to use the Panasonic CP234 camera for the demo setup. The beginning of the video was done using our standard PAL camera.

Unlike iMovie 6HD. Final cut express isn't as picky of where it gets its .dv files from. This made this video easier to create.

bcast03152015some books and more

Until we get the XE1541 cable, we will not be able to do much more with the Commodore 64 system. Hopefully, that will be here in a few days.

In this video, I show you some of my Commodore books. Here you can see the type of books I consider my "treasures"

WE also take the time to talk about the apartment for rent and the Landlord's porch renovation project.

CCTV video baluns can carry audio too!

I bought six baluns and they work well for video AND AUDIO! You can use them for both applications.

This may be just the thing if you want to send video/audio greater distances and not blow a wad on Coaxial cables!

However, Your results may vary based on brand and balun construction.

I also talk about my summer video plans.

bcast02282015What have been up to last few days

It has been awhile since my last video. I have been working on a variety of things. including research into my older computer system.

Lumi joins me as we talk about the various things that I have going on around my life.

Sorry the picture isn't perfect as this was supposed to be a quickie (uh huh?) which ended up running much longer than intended.
